Business and Town Council Experience
Ann Lawlor was first elected as a Ward 4 representative to Council in 2010 and is now serving for her third term. In addition to her Council work, Ann administers historic Devereaux House.
Before taking public office, Ann's career included 10 years as an account executive in the family-owned marketing company; five years as director of a social service agency and three years managing her own consulting business.
Ann believes in thinking globally while acting locally. She sees opportunities and brings people together to make a difference.
Ann knows that big things can happen in small towns!
Ann's long-time passion for effective government is grounded in a master's degree in public administration.

Over many years, as a leader in many organizations, Ann has inspired and encouraged teams of people to make a difference in our Town.

- Environmental action and greening our town as founding Chair, Trees for Halton Hills
- Growing women in business as charter member, Cornerstone Women's Network
- Celebrating and sharing our heritage as Chair, Doors Open
- Settling a young family who was fleeing war as Co-Chair, Halton Hills Syrian Refugee Settlement
- Providing social policy research and promoting volunteerism as Chair, Community Development Halton
- Supporting better health care as a Director, Georgetown Hospital Foundation
- Creating funding for local social service agencies as founding Board Member, United Way of Halton Hills
- Saving an historic home from demolition and restoring it for community use as founding Chair, Friends of Devereaux House
- President, CFUW (University Women's Club)
- Imagining and mobilizing volunteers to plan a spectacular public garden and charter member, Friends of the Old Seed House Garden
- Supporting a healthy natural environment as a board member, Credit Valley Conservation Authority
As your Mayor, Ann will continue to support causes that improve life for our residents.
